Boom2013The Port of San Diego's annual Big Bay Boom Fireworks Show drew record crowds to the waterfront around San Diego Bay on Thursday, July 4, 2013.
The show is among the most popular events on the waterfront. It is sponsored by the Port of San Diego and produced by H.P. Purdon & Company, Inc., which contracts with Garden State Fireworks, Inc. for the fireworks and related services.
Organizers estimated that 600,000 people watched the show.

Thousands Enjoy Sun & Sea Festival in Imperial BeachThe Port of San Diego's Sun & Sea Festival drew an estimated 25,000 people to Imperial Beach on Sunday, June 30, 2013, as part of the Port's ongoing efforts to enliven the waterfront around the Big Bay.
Kids and their families gathered at Imperial Beach Pier Plaza to enjoy art, live music and circus acrobatic performances. A Kids'n Kastles sand sculpting competition for children ages 12 and younger was held at the nearby beach.
